Communities in Schools of Durham-Parenting Education

In addition to a variety of programs for students, Communities in Schools of Durham provides support and education to parents of students in grades K-12:

Incredible Years Parenting Program is a 14 week, curriculum based class that teaches positive parenting techniques to parents with students in grades K-6. The goal is to increase the behaviors parents want to see out of their children and decrease the behaviors they don’t want to see.

Circle of Parents Program is an ongoing parent support group for parents of middle school students and high school students. The parents or guardians who attend the class determine what the topic of conversation is and they depend on each other, with the help of a facilitator, to find and share resources, information, and education on that particular topic for the week.
