FCR Head Start and Early Head Start

Operated by Families and Communities Rising, Inc. FCR Head Start (HS) & Early Head Start (EHS) (formerly Durham HS-EHS) is a no cost and comprehensive child development and family support program for low-income children and families that seeks to ensure all children in the program have a solid start in life. In addition to high-quality early education in classrooms for children ages 0-2 (EHS) or 3-5 (HS), families receive health and nutritional services, along with supportive services designed to help them reach their full potential. Parents and caregivers of children in the program work together to build a foundation towards their own educational, literacy and employment goals.

Note, this is a separate program from the Durham Early Head Start operated through Durham’s Partnership for Children. We recommend you explore both options to find the solution for your needs.
