Post Adoption Support Services (PASS)

The Post-Adoption Support Program offers a variety of free support services to any family that has adopted a child (whether from foster care, private agencies, or through a kinship adoption) in a 20-county region including Durham, Wake and Cumberland.

Our services include:

  • Individual Support & Assessment: Whether you need answers to questions, referrals, expert advice on your child’s behavior, or a comprehensive assessment when an adopted child is showing challenges, PASS clinicians can help!
  • Social Support: Through fun family outings and local support groups, spend time with families who understand the special challenges and joys of adoption.
  • Workshops & an Annual Parent Conference: PASS offers periodic educational workshops for adoptive families as well as an annual conference each spring covering topics such as transracial adoption, parenting a child with difficult behaviors, or healing from childhood trauma. Most workshops are available online, and all are free for adoptive families in the 20-county service area.
