The Durham Early Head Start Home-Based Program is a no-cost, comprehensive child development and family support program for low-income families which provides weekly home visits and twice per month playgroups to children ages birth to three years old and expectant families.
As part of Durham Early Head Start, the home-based program offers families educational experiences and strategies to support children’s learning right in their own home. In addition, parents get quality support on parenting issues, free resources like books and diapers, and referrals to other community services as needed.
Playgroups, parent committees, and other opportunities offer Early Head Start parents and caregivers a chance to meet others and to develop advocacy and leadership skills.
