Family Matters Durham

Based at the Durham County Department of Public Health, Family Matters offers a range of engaging educational trainings, interactive workshops, courses, and networking opportunities to help improve perinatal outcomes and promote equitable services. Our services include:

  • Reproductive Life Planning Guides and Education
  • Maternal Mental Health Support – Stress and Mood Management Program (One-on-one sessions or group sessions)
  • Private Lactation Spaces
  • Breastfeeding Support Groups
  • Prenatal Breastfeeding Education
  • Childbirth Classes
  • Community Action Team

Family Matters Durham is funded under the Improving Community Outcomes for Maternal and Child Health (ICO4MCH) initiative by the North Carolina Division of Public Health. In addition to services available directly through the Department of Public Health, Family Matters partners with Breastfeed Durham, Family Connects Durham, MAAME, and Welcome Baby to improve birth outcomes, reduce infant mortality, and improve the overall health status of children from birth to age 5.

Family Matters Durham is dedicated to supporting the well-being of families and invites everyone to get involved in improving perinatal outcomes in our communities. Contact us to learn how!
