Sometimes called “navigation” or “care coordination,” the services offered by these organizations support families in finding, connecting to, or managing care for a child or the whole family.
Durham Resources
Alliance Health Access and Information Center
Referrals to mental, substance abuse and behavioral health professionals for families with Medicaid or with no insurance; also serves as a 24/7 behavioral health crisis line
Black Families and Providers Accessing Services Together (BFAST)
Our mission is to provide easily accessible, culturally sensitive, and personally tailored information to allow successful connection to early intervention services for Black autistic children across North Carolina.
Care Management for at Risk Children (CMARC or CC4C)
Care coordination for families with children birth- age 5 that may need extra support navigating their child’s physical and behavioral health needs.
CCSA Child Care Referral Central
Provides resources and referrals to help make finding childcare easy and convenient for families.
Child First
We partner with you to build strong, loving relationships with your young children, ages 0-5, to heal and protect them from life’s many stresses and challenges.
Durham Children’s Initiative
Provides families with ongoing, wrap-around support, connections to resources, and programming for Durham children and families from the cradle to college or career.
El Centro Hispano
A Latino nonprofit organization providing a variety of support and opportunities to Latinx families in the Triangle.
Family Support Network of NC
Network of peer support for families of children with special needs, led by parents with lived experience.
HealthySteps at Duke Children’s Primary Care North Durham
Specialists at the pediatric primary care clinic that work alongside families of children under age 3 to be sure they have the support they need to nurture their child’s wellbeing.
NCCARE360
Free statewide network that helps individuals or families connect to all kinds of community resources like housing assistance, food relief, employment services and other important types of support.
North Carolina Family Navigation Guide
A website and resource guide for families who have concerns about their child’s development and those who have children with special health care needs or disabilities.
The Family Navigator
Parent educator and advocate supporting you in finding what your child needs after a diagnosis
The Village Durham
The Village Durham pairs families in crisis with a Family Advocate who can serve as a support for them with various needs including job training, employment, housing, nutrition, mental health, parenting education, and more.
