Parent groups offer an opportunity to meet other parents who share similar experiences, provide or receive informal and mutual support, discuss parenting challenges, and learn parenting strategies. The following programs facilitate parent groups online and/or in person for Durham parents.

Who is Eligible:

All parents, guardians, and grandparents of Durham County.

Incredible Years Parenting Program is for parents with students in grades K-6. Circle of Parents is for parents of middle and high school students.

Where are services offered?

Classes are in-person or online.

The Incredible Years Parenting Program class is offered in the Fall and the Spring every school year as an in-person class. The in-person location is updated every semester.

Circle of Parents is an ongoing group, offered both virtually and in-person, that parents can join at any time.

Cost: 

Free

The classes are free AND incentivized.

A Latino nonprofit organization providing a variety of support and opportunities to Latinx families in the Triangle.

EPiC organizes and supports Black parents and their allies in its mission to dismantle systemic racial inequities and advocate for high quality educational opportunities.
Who is Eligible:

Specifically for BIPOC (Black, indigenous and people of color) parents or caregivers; however, our affinity groups are open to any parent or caregiver of a Black child

Durham, NC and surrounding areas

Cost: 

PAAC Membership Fee for the school community (depends on level of commitment). Circles of Hope groups are free to parents/caregivers.

Who is Eligible:

TAPS offers parenting groups for three different stages of parenthood:

  • For parents expecting a new baby
  • For parents of babies under 6 months
  • For parents with babies under 18-months-old

  • Prenatal: Free. Suggested Donation of $35
  • Newborn PEPS: Choose your own fee $15-$195.
