The following programs provide parenting information and “training” in a variety of formats, offering everything from one-time tips to parenting workshops to regular home visits.

Durham Resources
ABC
A 10-session service for families with infants and toddlers, ABC helps to build the attachment and connection between parents and children under age 4
Book Harvest & Book Babies
Book Harvest provides free books for children of all ages; a Family Space designed for families to read, learn and play together; and programs that partner with parents to nurture language and literacy development.
Durham Children’s Initiative
Provides families with ongoing, wrap-around support, connections to resources, and programming for Durham children and families from the cradle to college or career.

H.E.A.R.T.S. (Helping Each Adolescent Reach Their Spark)
H.E.A.R.T.S. supports young adolescent parents and pregnant people with tools to successfully become independent and self-sufficient.
Healthy Families Durham
A free home-visiting program designed to help new parents as they support the healthy growth and development of their children from birth to 3 years old.
HealthySteps at Duke Children’s Primary Care North Durham
Specialists at the pediatric primary care clinic that work alongside families of children under age 3 to be sure they have the support they need to nurture their child’s wellbeing.

Community based educational space that elevates the importance of bilingualism through Spanish language and cultural immersion programs

Peer to peer lactation support for breastfeeding families, regardless of whether they are facing challenges or simply seeking to connect with others
